feeling Happy Scrappy
Exciting news! I have been sketching a new quilt design for my 2024 Block of the Month program. Actually, I started sketching while on vacation in France and have been developing it since then. My 2024 BOM quilt will be similar to Pas de Deux - one quilt with multiple patchwork elements interwoven in a playful, modern layout. I am pretty excited about what I have so far and decided to start sewing one of the patchwork groups as a stand-alone scrap quilt.

Because yesterday I got to start a new quilt!
Gosh I love that moment. So many possibilities, so much lovely fabric, so so very luck to have the time and space to create! This time I started by pulling a range of black-background prints for one element of the quilt. The other main element of the patchwork will be fabric scraps.

Yay for fabric scraps! I guess it’s been since May that I worked with them? That’s a bit too long in my book. I am even following the siren song of rainbow order scraps. Here we go again!

May I present the first two happy blocks. I call this block Kaleidoscope. He’s six inches finished and just darn adorable, don’t you think?

If you layout the blocks continuously the black points make a fantastic secondary shape. However, I don’t plan to do that, oh no. I have something else even more fun in mind. Stay tuned!
