This season has been busy in my longarm quilting studio. Quilts are zipping in and out at a pleasant pace, which means that there is lots to share with you. Yay.
By the way, my turnaround time for longarm service is one to two weeks max from the time your quilt arrives at my studio to the time it ships back out to you. I can accommodate rush orders too, because I know that sometimes speed is of the essence. Thanks for keeping me in mind if you live here in Europe!
Pas de Deux by Ilka
Hey, hey, hey, another Pas de Deux quilt! This one is a fresh take, don’t you think? Ilka participated in the Pas de Deux block of the month, now available as a complete pattern library, but she opted for a focused color scheme in pinks and aquas.
Looks like she managed to use lots of fun scraps!
Notice how Ilka used value in her quilt. Multiple adjacent patchwork groups have an overall low value, which makes that part of the quilt seem to glow. How pretty.
We opted for Bubble quilting for her Pas de Deux sampler. It’s the second or third time I’ve done that on a Pas de Deux. Works really well with the vibe of the patchwork!
Mandolin Quilt BY HEidi of Moderne Patchwork

I can see that she got to enjoy these fabrics. Her creative choices really show off the mandolin patchwork shapes. Looks like it was a fun project, and now it is already a soft and cozy quilt!

Granny Patch by Giulia C.
This quilt reminds me fondly of a granny square crochet blanket. That’s because it is composed of solid fabrics (like yarn colors) and because the blocks are interspersed with background color at regular intervals, which creates an open, airy effect.
Lovely, right? This mama-made treasure is destined for a little girl’s bed; thus, we opted for sweet Flutterbye quilting.
I find the colors really delightful, especially on the earthy pale blush background. It looks to me like a color palette that a girl would only grow into. In fact, I have something like this in mind for when I make Elora a new quilt in the next year or so. I think she’ll be ready to branch out from pink around then ;) .
