in the Quilting Studio, no. 48

How is it going in your sewing room? Are you starting a quilt, finishing a quilt or finding yourself everywhere in between? As a longarm quilter I get to see the final phase of so many quilts, which is truly an inspiration to me as a maker. Naturally, it is my pleasure to share that inspiration with you! I hope you enjoy this mini quilt show featuring the creations of my customers.

Solar Phases Quilt by MAdeline

Don’t you just love this version of the Solar Phases quilt pattern? Madeline’s setting sun absolutely glows.

The quilt pattern and palette are both beautifully minimalistic. Since Madeline used only solids, any quilting pattern will really stand out. We could have gotten fussy with custom quilting, but Madeline chose for restraint.

And I love it! In my opinion, this modern, straight line quilting finishes the quilt so nicely. The quilting is dense, durable and not at all distracting from the patchwork itself.

PEnny Sampler by Verena

And here’s something the opposite of minimalistic - a Penny Sampler quilt. You know how I love custom quilting these samplers. Luckily, Verena @MissJenny_V sent me another beauty to have my way with!

Yay!

I quilted some elements with my go-to textures. Everyone loves the sashing quilted with that dense crosshatch and the windmill quilted with the asterisk, for example.

This section of the quilt, which calls to mind the watery Dutch world is perfect with upside-down clamshell quilting, just like fish scales.

But over the Hanging Diamonds section, at the far left of the quilt, I did something new. I quilted an angular design suitable for quilting around and not through the diamonds themselves. Since the diamonds remain un-quilted, they jump to the foreground. I like it!

I am happy to say that Verena was thrilled with her quilted sampler, and I suspect that she is enjoying it now on these cold April days in The Netherlands.

Robots Quilt by Anna-Fleur + Neline

I have had the pleasure of quilting for this mother-daughter pair before. This time they have made a very cool baby girl quilt using the Robots pattern by Elizabeth Hartman.

It is a bright and colorful quilt, with so much personality. I love that the robots are sewn with sweet florals and that the fern green background has tiny lightning strike motifs!

With pretty Lily flower quilting and a gorgeous multicolor background print, this quilt is 100% pretty and 100% cool. I’m definitely a fan!

I’d be happy to finish your projects with a beautiful quilting texture too. My services are available to those who live throughout the European region. Please be in touch if you have any questions or start the process off by placing your order. I can’t wait to collaborate on YOUR quilt!
