new Quilting Designs + Batting
So! You guys have been really keeping me busy with the longarm quilting service! Customers keep bringing me three or four quilts at a time, which is such a great compliment and very efficient of course. I am the kind of person that prefers to immediately complete tasks, rather than putting things off for later, so my longarm quilting machine has been humming busily most days. It’s a win-win for us all!
This batch of Charley Harper quilts are coming up next! (Find Harper fabrics in the US at The Confident Stitch or in Europe at Nanno Creative.)
From time to time I invest in new digital quilting patterns to suit particular quilts. Yesterday I took the time to upload the digital files to my Design catalog. That is a visual catalog of my favorite designs, which my customers and I use to collaborate over the best choice for their quilt. Would you like to see the new designs?
Modern Geometrics
These designs especially suit modern quilts. Several were personally selected by Brigitte Heitland, the designer of Zen Chic fabrics, for her quilts.

Tales of Cloth
Checkout Jodi’s library of Free English Paper Piecing Patterns! What a great way to play with EPP to discover how you like to make quilts and use your fabric, and grow in confidence.
Each pattern comes with fabric and shape requirements, clear diagrams and photos, and printable templates and colouring sheet. Enjoy!
Natural Motifs
These designs come from nature. They can add a lot of personality to a quilt!
I have also been wanting to tell you that I switched battings for my longarm business, and it’s going well! I used to offer Quilter’s Dream batting, the Cotton Select variety. As a response to inflation last year, my distributor drastically hiked the cost of international shipping, which made it too expensive for me to continue to offer Quilter’s Dream products.
Happily, I have found a Dutch distributor for my favorite longarm thread (So Fine! from Superior Threads) and a comparable low-loft cotton batting. I now offer Luna batting in the Simply Cotton variety, which is 100% cotton. It feels quite like Quilter’s Dream Cotton Select, even to having a tiny bit of stretch (which I appreciate). I am using it for my quilts as well, and all is to my liking. So glad to have found an affordable alternative! I was even able to lower my batting prices, yay.
Here’s to more quilt-making for us all!
