Stashing Central Park!
Once again, actually using Central Park beat me too the "stashing" post. But that just goes to show how happy I am with this collection by Kate Spain!
Here is a range of aqua, lavender and sage for a project I'll be making my mother-in-law. At the time we were thinking a quilt, but now it looks like it'll be a sewing machine cover. Well, that means I'll just have a lot left over, won't I? Darn.
I found my picks from Central Park at Whipstitch. She has a very large selection. But, some of the prints not available at Whipstitch, you can find at Down Shadow Lane. Oh, and Sew Fresh Fabrics has a layer cake -yum!
This print, Cobblestone, is a great basic tone-on-tone. I appreciate that it's a small print, which will be great for small patchwork and even binding. I really can never get enough of these kind of prints. The best basics get used up and then they're gone again!
These are my absolute favorites from Central Park. I added them for love! I kind of surprised myself by wanting that floral print on white. It's so vintage-inspired. Don't you think? I love it! Welcome, welcome wildflowers. Hurray for spring!
The two Bridle Path's (shown above in sage and coral) are lovely prints in any color. I used the coral almost the day it arrived. See:
Hey, can I admit that I've been second-guessing this block (aka the Bottled Rainbow block above)? I keep seeing your blocks in the Flickr pool with squares and rectangles only (and pinking) and I'm wondering if all my angles are too busy? Sorry, didn't mean to get distracted. Just I've been thinking... Oh, and while I'm talking about Bottled Rainbows (oops), I do think I'm going to quilt-as-I-go. That was YOUR great idea - thanks! I expect to post the detailed how-to post on Wednesday. So hold tight!
Back to fabric. I also recently stashed this rust Metro Living print. You may have noticed it in Brick House. And also these two tiny stripes from Punctuation by American Jane available at Fresh Squeezed Fabrics. Aren't they cute! They'd make lovely bindings, but I wonder if they'll last that long. I have no qualms about cutting into yardage for projects, so I often break up my large cuts before they can become a backing or binding. Oh well, things are getting used and enjoyed!
