Semi-custom quilting is a modified version of an edge-to-edge pattern. Modifications might include artistic variations in quilting density, strategic placement of a pattern to compliment the patchwork or quilting around special shapes.

A common version of semi-custom work is an edge-to-edge pattern with a shape not-quilted.
