the Rainbow Pas de Deux
It’s finished!
I love finishing quilts! This one was especially rewarding to round off, since it was a puzzle of sorts made up of elements sewn by my quilting bee, according to the Pas de Deux quilt pattern.
All-in-all, the rainbow blend was a success! The colors move gradually from purple at the top to pink/red at the bottom, with the interruption of those bright yellow circles, shining like a row of suns in the sky.
I didn’t plan for those yellow circles, but I sure do love them. Sometimes the best aspects of our quilts are those that come by accident.
If I were to do it again, I would aim for less white on the bottom part of the quilt, as I feel that it dilutes the rainbow effect some. But still, I think it’s just lovely how it is - quite clean and crisp.
I quilted this Pas de Deux quilt with overall continuous eight quilting. It’s a simple, calming texture that helps unite the diverse patchwork elements.
Now she’s off to be donated to someone in need through Krachtdekens, a Dutch non-profit.
Thanks to my Comfort circle bee mates at do. Good Stitches for sewing along with me!
