a happy, scrappy Candy Box quilt top

This week I found my rhythm: stitch, press, trim - stitch, press, trim - stitch, press, trim.

Lost in the process and living deliciously in the moment of each new seam, my project felt like a secret getaway. I return to you today with a fresh new quilt top!

Last Friday, when I asked for your opinion on the block layout, I wasn’t sure which I would choose. Bolstered by the overwhelming popularity of option A, which was my original plan for this quilt, I forged ahead. Thank you very much for your thoughts. This is looking like a happy, scrappy Candy Box indeed!

If you also have moments of self-doubt in the middle of a project, you’re not alone. Getting helpful feedback is one of the nicest aspects of social media. My mama alway says that it never hurts to ask. =)

Today it’s to the longarm with my Postage Stamp Stars quilt. Yay!

First I’ll have to stop petting this smooth, silky backing fabric called Cosmos from Fenceline Fabrics. It’s a wideback fabric, so I don’t have to piece anything. Straight to basting! The luxurious hand of the fabric and the metallic sparkles have charmed me. You might like to know: the Cosmos backing fabric is also available in more colors.

My upcoming Postage Stamps Stars pattern is a free bonus pattern for all club members of Pas de Deux. The pattern will deliver along with February’s monthly installment of our dancing, scrappy sampler.

If you haven’t joined us yet for the Pas de Deux 2022 BOM, there’s no time like the present! New members will receive the January club delivery right away. This block-of-the-month is not the super time-intensive variety, so you can totally complete January’s sewing this weekend and be all caught up, ready for February.

And if you have joined Pas de Deux, and you’re a fan of my Candy Box scrap-friendly version of Postage Stamp Stars quilt, hop on over to Fenceline Fabrics to snatch a quilt kit before they’re gone!

xoxo,

Rachel
