mod mosaic

Happy Friday!  I hope you're looking forward to a nice weekend.  We're prepping to head out of town for a week of ABM therapy tomorrow, since baby has been breathing very well since Tuesday of this week.  Crossing fingers everything goes smoothly so that she's able to enjoy and learn.

bee block sewing

I decided to knock out my bee blocks early this month!  I can't believe it's already November with all that entails for the holiday season?  Grrrr.  I haven't even come around to autumn yet.  Wish I could skip right over the holidays this year.  But alas, time marches on.

Anyhoo, these are the makings of mod mosaic blocks, a la Elizabeth Hartman.  Our lead quilter this month requested blocks in the colors of sea glass.

Nov blocks for Love circle

A very cool palette warmed with bits of "root beer brown," as she dubbed it.  Love that name for brown!  This block was an ideal choice for a sea glass theme, since the irregular pieces framed in bright white do feel a lot like pebbles on sand.  Always a pleasure to use my scraps for good!

drip, drip Fall

Today it's raining outside, brightening the yellows and oranges and browns heralding true autumn in South Carolina.  November is our prettiest fall month.  Here's wishing us all eyes to appreciate the beauty around us.
