it's almost time!

This year I just Can't Wait for Christmas time!  I'm so glad Thanksgiving is early and we can start singing Christmas carols this weekend (much to poor Brandon's dismay).  On Friday we'll be off to the tree farm to cut our own tree and then, and then maybe the kids will be ready to help me make the fabric garland I've been planning?

I have this scrappy project in mind that includes the Go! Baby cutter, but so far they haven't been interested.  It's so much more fun if we do it together.  Hmm... this weekend I'll try just starting to make the garland by myself in the dining room.  What is it with kids always wanting to join you if you don't invite them?  Good thing I'm so clever.

holiday Patchwork Mat!

Meanwhile, today I'm working on a patchwork mat, just like one of my earliest sewing projects from Suzuko Koseki's Patchwork Style.  Seems like just the project for some fun holiday fabrics I've been sitting on awhile!  I really dig these prints, which were mostly scored via a Sew Love Fabrics Christmas scrap pack.

time to quilt her up

Everything's prepped, so now I have a million 3/8" quilting lines to power through.  Maybe I need to sneak in some Christmas music today....
