I adore peach.  And the funny thing is that I'm pretty sure in my youth I disdained it.  I think I used to associate it with all things dated, back before I knew that there is no such thing as a bad color (no such thing!).

Earlier this week I was craving something new, some patchwork I could throw around just for the fun of it that wouldn't require a design-wall, and I had so much trouble making up my mind.  A picnic quilt based on this blue/green stashed backing?  A brighter picnic quilt to match my home dec backing scraps?  Or should I start work on a new class project?  Or just reign myself in to those curtains I need to make?

I chose these fabrics for a maybe picnic quilt...

Then, before bed, it occurred to me to make a simple quilt from Kingwell's book Quilt Lovely with peach as the background color, instead of low volume.

And cutting.  An chain piecing.  Blissfully distracted by peach.
