#30DaysofQuiltDesign winner @FreeTimeFibers

Drumroll for our first winner - - -

Remember folks, this is a 30 day challenge, but you have 3 months to complete the task! Log 30 design moments now through September - that’s the goal. It’s definitely not too late to join. Click over to 30 Days of Quilt Design to get all the details!

Today I visited our Instagram hashtag #30DaysofQuiltDesign to locate our random winner. Congratulations to @FreeTimeFibers whose design Searching Souls was randomly selected!

Searching souls

day no. 2 @FreeTimefibers

Kaitlin created this design as well as her others using @ProCreate. How cool! I thought you might like to see a few others that she has created for the challenge:

weird neighbors

day no. 4 @freetimefibers

I’m in love with this one. The design is so funky and Weird Neighbors is such a cool name for it. I would foundation paper piece this. Would you?

Double Nine PAtch on a curve

Day no. 3 @freetimefibers

This beauty certainly makes an impression. It’s traditional with a twist. A cool challenge for sure!

Big Thanks to The Confident Stitch!

This 30 Days of Quilt Design prize was gifted by The Confident Stitch, a long-time sponsor of Stitched in Color. Thank you for encouraging our creativity!

p.s. I am feeling frustrated with Instagram lately, as I don’t get “served” the content that I really want to see. When I hosted this challenge back in 2016, it was easy to see all the latest designs added to our group hashtag #30DaysofQuiltDesign. Now Instagram won’t show these posts in my feed, in favor of all the moving reels, often from people I don’t even follow. I really want to see your designs! Anyone have a trick for making this easier? Of course I visit the hashtag directly on my phone and computer, but I might miss some of the 2024 postings, since Instagram decides what to prioritize. Grr.

I see that Kaitline @FreeTimeFibers started adding the hashtag #30DaysofQuiltDesign2024. Maybe that is the way to go? What do you think?
