Green Starbright Stars, a finished quilt

Guess what is coming to a screen near you on Monday, August 21st????

The Starbright Stars quilt pattern!

And remember, these stars are completely machine pieced! My Starbright Stars patchwork is sewn without any y-seams or fiddly techniques. All you need is angled patchwork sewing skills. Is your own personal constellation about to burst into being?

Please join us this September for the Starbright Stars Sew-Along OR for Angled Class. Yep, you have choices. On Monday you can buy Starbright Stars as a stand-alone quilt pattern or opt for the full Angled Class experience to completely master angled patchwork of all kinds, improv angles too!

Now let’s talk about this quilt, shall we? It came along with us to France where it had its big day in the sun in the charming village of Renaison.

Luckily my quilt holder really gets into the spirit. He understands that sometimes it takes a journey to find the magic.

And here it is! A sublime cream background for my totally green quilt. Ta da! It sparkles, don’t you think? That comes from the clusters of value and color, which create connections that draw the eye here and there over the quilt.

I am in love with mossy green, minty green, teal green, emerald green, grassy green, sage green, all the greenest green greens!

Sponsor of the Week

Purple Stitches

Do you live on my side of the Atlantic? Then check out the generous selection of 108” quilt back fabrics in stock at UK-based Purple Stitches. The offerings range from modern to classy to charming - and she even has the adorable deer backing I used with today’s quilt!

And because I love this quilt so very much, I opted to custom quilt it with a time-intensive design. Each low volume diamond is bestowed with a diamond quilting motif and each star has a simple, straight-line asterisk. Because the quilting in the low volume diamonds is much denser than the quilting on the stars, it makes the stars soft and fluffy to the touch.

This green girl is bound with an Anna Maria Horner classic, Cathedral in Jade, and backed with a large piece of charming Heather Ross Night Visitor deer, as well as XOXO Cotton and Steel in Picnic Metallic.

Starbright Stars is now home again and all set for another journey to a new home. She’s listed today in my Handmades shop. Enjoy with my best wishes for growth and flourishing!
