little Village
Check out this Scandinavian village print,
Malmo by Gomez Caroline:
When I first pinned this, I hadn't settled on a color scheme for my project. These bright colors are totally exciting. And so summery! But, in the end I opted for a much more limited, sparse color scheme mainly in blues and purples. I hope to use color more subtly than I might normally do and preserve some neutral-ish spaces.
Here's my first completed block!
This little Village is pieced...
and then machine appliqued. The Shelburne Falls Deco Fans made perfect roof tops. Shingles! And it was fun to pull out some Central Park, which I recently restocked from Fresh Modern Fabrics, to make a brick house.
Today I'm hoping to work some needle turn applique on another block-in-progress. Or, since my usual workday has been ambushed by little ones, I might just do some mindless piecing instead...
